Bucket Swap (You Haul)

Our new bucket swap service is perfect for folks who want to recycle their food scraps and keep a flexible schedule. How does it work?

1. Choose either the unlimited swap subscription ($15/month) or pay-as-you-go bucket swap ($7/swap).

2. Pick up your Bad Apple Compost 4-gallon bucket from our sustainability partner, Just Toledo located at 909 Jefferson Ave in downtown Toledo during their business hours (open Tuesday 10-5, Friday 10-5 and Saturday 9-2). Just show them your receipt and they’ll provide you with our bucket.

3. Fill the Bad Apple Compost bucket with food scraps and other approved compostable materials, then return it to Just Toledo and get your next bucket. (Please make sure the exterior of your bucket is clean when you return it.)

• Unlimited bucket swaps allow you to compost as much material as you can fit inside your 4-gallon bucket on a schedule that works for you.

• Receive a complimentary 5-gallon bucket of finished compost per year to use on your houseplants, veggie garden or flower beds. (Must be subscribed for at least 6 months to receive compost share.)
